澎湖花火節即將到來，不知道大家是不是都準備好要衝一波了呢？雖然花火節看似相當歡樂和盛大，但你知道花火節其實是源自於一場意外嗎？而澎湖花火節除了看煙火外，還有許多活動可以參與喔！今天就來跟大家分享澎湖花火節的由來、20 週年的活動以及如何與外國朋友介紹澎湖花火節！
一、澎湖花火節的由來和傳統
The Penghu International Fireworks Festival actually derived from a tragic plane accident that happened on May 25th, 2002. A total of 225 people including passengers, flight attendants, and pilots died as a China Airline’s plane crashed into the ocean near Penghu, due to an engine malfunction. This accident severely damaged Penghu’s tourism industry. China Airlines decided to cooperate with the Penghu government to hold a festival on Chinese Valentine’s Day in order to compensate the local tourism industry for their loss. Flight attendants put on fancy clothes and performed while fireworks lit up the dark sky. The festival instantly attracted a lot of tourists to come which then became a traditional event that takes place in Penghu every year.
其實澎湖花火節源自於一場發生在 2002 年 5 月 25 日的一場空難。因為機械故障的緣故，一架華航的民航機墜毀於澎湖近海，包含乘客、機組人員和機長共 225 人全數罹難。這起嚴重的意外也重傷了澎湖的觀光產業，於是華航決定與澎湖政府合作並在七夕情人節當天聯合舉辦一場盛會來補償澎湖觀光產業的損失。當天機組人員們穿著華麗的服裝在台上表演，而天空充滿著絢麗的煙火，這場佳節瞬間吸引了許多遊客前來，爾後「澎湖花火節」也因此成為了當地每年必辦的傳統活動。
二、 與花火節有關的英文單字
參加澎湖花火節除了可以觀賞煙火表演，其實還有許多有趣、好玩的行程可以安排！也因為澎湖周邊擁有許多小島，不僅可以體驗許多水上活動，也可以去到望安、吉貝等離島享受天然的美景。以下就來跟大家介紹去參加澎湖花火節能體驗的活動喔！

| Night fishing 夜釣 | 在澎湖眾多的活動中，絕對不能漏掉的就是夜釣小管啦！小管其實就是我們俗稱的小卷，因為小卷具有驅光性，因此，漁船在晚上出海時，船底及船身都會以燈光誘惑小卷靠近船隻，好讓民眾來釣。 |

| Scuba diving or snorkeling 潛水或浮潛 | 在澎湖潛水或浮潛都能一探究竟美麗的大海，除了豐富的珊瑚礁以外，也有許多熱帶魚類可以觀賞。最特別的莫過於僅能在澎湖看見的「全台唯一海底郵筒」，除了能夠近距離觀賞以外，據說還真的能夠寄信喔！ |
